The admission requirements for the Springboard to a DCS/DEC pathway are the same as those for admission to a program of study leading to a DCS/DEC.
Educational intentions of the courses
The aim of the Springboard to a DCS/DEC pathway is to provide students with training that enables them to enroll in or complete a program of study leading to a Diploma of College Studies (DCS/DEC).
The Springboard to a DCS/DEC combines the General Education courses (French, English, Humanities and Physical Education) with the complementary courses that are required to earn a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS/DEC).
If you would like to receive a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS/DEC), you will need to pass the courses from the General Education component and complementary courses, regardless of which DCS/DEC you choose.
Students may be enrolled in the Springboard to a DCS/DEC pathway for a maximum of three consecutive Fall or Winter semesters.
To earn a DCS/DEC, you need to successfully complete:
- All of the General Education component courses (12 courses, 22.66 credits).
- Two complementary courses from the General Education component (4 credits. You cannot choose two courses from the same ensemble.
- All of the program-specific courses from your program of study.
